The landscape at the Centrepiece project was primarily about creating quality spaces that people of all ages can come together and enjoy. There are a series of microclimates set within the Centrepiece apartments landscape scheme including shared communal courtyards and the private apartment terraces. The planting scheme also responds to each of these in turn, carefully considering factors such as solar orientation, shade and the availability of planter soil volume.
The landscape was designed understanding that everyone uses gardens in a different way. We also recognise that for people that are downsizing from a larger suburban property, its still important to have a private garden space. There are a host of health benefits that can result from access to a properly designed garden space. In simple terms, gardens become a place of sanctuary and retreat where residents experience a sense of relaxation, switching off from a hectic outside world.
Achieving these goals means working closely with the Architects and Engineers to create the necessary infrastructure to sustain a landscape of a particular quality and scale to create long term, sustainable and beautiful garden environments.
